Took our holiday trip to Apalachicola. Stayed at the Gibson Inn. Wonderful old bed and breakfast. Rooms were spacious and comfy. Unique old Florida style for sure. Restaurant was great as well. The included breakfast was as good as any I've had. Eggs were fresh and hot. Biscuits were good and gravy true Southern style. Also have cereal and yogurt for the healthy folks.
And hot, good coffee.
The only slight negative is the water is very hard, and soap tough to rinse off completely.

Went on the road for our holiday trip this year. Stayed in Apalachicola (Gibson Inn) then to Crystal River to check swimming with manatees off the bucket list. Hooked up with Crystal River Watersports for a tour the day after Christmas. Showed up at 11, had a great 3 hour tour. Swimming with the mantees was well worth the small cost. The boat ride was awesome.
Our guide (Dakota) and captain (Larry) made it fun, educational, and enjoyable. We will probably go back when time allows.

Had a trip to the Keys but no guide lined up. Stopped by Bud 'n Marys Marina in Islamorada, FL. You should too! Saw a salty guide rinsing off his boat and struck up a convo. He showed pics of a successful trip so we booked him. Capt. Clyde Upchurch. Over 35 years experience in the Keys. We caught more snook, redfish, mangrove snapper, and other fish than I can count. Holiday Harbor Marina is our home fuel dock. The folks there are great! Polite and extremely helpful The Sunset Grille is a favorite spot as well. The food is great and you can't beat the view. Holiday Harbor Marina is a family-owned, full-service marina. The on-site restaurant, Sunset Grille, has waterside dining in a relaxed, family atmosphere with the best sunsets views on the Key.
